In our ongoing series of reasons why you should come to #e32020…
What?! Did I hear you correctly?…Two feature-length documentaries are included when you register for e3?!
No way…
Yes, way…
First, Dr. Megan DeFranza, speaker and author of Sex Difference in Christian Theology, and keynote presenter at #e32020, will present Stories of Intersex and Faith. The film features the stories of five intersex people, seeking to “illuminate unique perspectives about gender, faith, and life; perspectives which are particularly timely for a culture conflicted by questions about sex and gender.” Wondering what “intersex” means? Listen to an interview with Dr. DeFranza:
We’ll showcase more of Dr. DeFranza’s work later in this series of reasons to come to e3. For now, enjoy the trailer and visit learn more about the film.

But wait, that’s not all! With your registration, you’ll also receive access to Loves God, Likes Girls, a documentary in a continuing series of LGBTQ stories produced by CenterPeace. Directed by Jordan Bunch of Film Mavericks from Austin, Texas, Loves God, Likes Girls features CenterPeace founder/director Sally Gary’s journey of reconciling her faith and sexuality. You may remember the film had its theatrical debut last year in Dallas, Austin, and Abilene. Since then Loves God, Likes Girls has been on the film festival circuit and not available for viewing in any other venue. Until now! During #e32020, Loves God, Likes Girls will be accessible to anyone registered for the conference on a private YouTube link.

Each night after the keynote session, we’ll run one of the films –
Thursday, Oct 22, 9 p.m., CST Loves God, Likes Girls
Friday, Oct 23, 9 p.m., CST Stories of Intersex and Faith
Then after the conference ends on Saturday, October 24, at 12:30, both films will be available for viewing any time on YouTube for registered e3 participants until Sunday, October 25, at midnight. Make plans now to invite friends to watch a double-feature on Saturday night, October 24! These stories from the lives of real LGBTQ people won’t fail to inform and inspire. Use them as conversation starters for small groups or Bible classes at your church. Or as a way to come out to family members.
